Continuing its tradition of celebrating the military, the Tour Championship once again hosted several military events during tournament week, as well as provide military personnel a hospitality venue free of charge, sponsored by Chase.

Jim Furyk, on behalf of Birdies for the Brave, Operation Homefront, and Chase, also presented the gift of a mortgage free home to Specialist Jonathan Crespo (US Army ret) and his wife, Jennifer as part of the Military Appreciation Day ceremony.  The Crespo’s have a 5-year-old daughter, and twin 5-month olds (one boy, one girl).

Operation Homefront’s “Homes on the Homefront” program helps warriors, veterans and military families realize their American Dream of home ownership. Operation Homefront and Chase have partnered together since 2012 to provide mortgage-free homes to wounded warriors, military, and veteran families. Thanks to Chase and other committed partners, Operation Homefront has placed more than 450 families in mortgage-free homes since 2012.

In addition to receiving a mortgage free home, Specialist Jonathan Crespo, along with all other invited military personnel, participated in a special meet and greet with concert artist Uncle Kracker (Photo: PGA TOUR/ Logan Bowles).

The Uncle Kracker Concert presented by Legacy Trust Family Wealth Offices took place on TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse immediately following play and the Military Appreciation Day ceremony.

Initially known for his role as DJ in Kid Rock’s legendary Twisted Brown Trucker band, Uncle Kracker soon kicked off a stunning solo career of his own.  The Detroit-based singer/songwriter made his solo debut with 2001’s #1 smash, “Follow Me,” kicking off a run of top 10 multi-format hits like “In A Little While,” “Smile,” and of course, 2003’s record-setting cover of Dobie Gray’s classic “Drift Away.”

Earlier this week, Chase was also a sponsor of Operation Shower, a baby shower honoring 30 military moms-to-be on Monday of the Tour Championship. Operation Shower was hosted by Jim and Tabitha Furyk and celebrated the moms with brunch and gifts provided by the PGA TOUR, Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation and Chicco. Operation Shower was sponsored by Chase as part of their military initiatives.
